Rainbow Villas is more than accommodation – they are an experience in their own right. Established in 2019 by Eric Gamez and Ira Matxinada, these villas represent a lifestyle. Eric & Ira want guests to be able to easily access fresh fruits and vegetables from the site – to literally live from the land as they require.

Bananas, pawpaw, sweet cherry tomatoes and chillies are among the many fruits and vegetables growing in the rich volcanic soil – augmented by compost carried up the steep incline of the drive by Eric and Ira – until they installed their own composting system.

No expense has been spared in the construction or fitting of the villas – the beds, linen, bathroom and all fittings & furnishings are of extremely high quality and very comfortable. Air conditioning has been installed to ensure guest comfort during the warmer months.

The one thing that has been spared is the use of any kind of chemical. The passion and commitment of Eric and Ira to an eco-friendly environment is very genuine. Ira selected blue towels for the bathrooms in order to avoid using bleach. The pool has a chlorine-free cleaning system imported from the United States, and all cleaning materials are chemical free.

An Opportunity to Surf or Bodyboard with Eric!

Eric – a pro bodyboarder for his entire career & Ira, surfing videographer & copywriter, found the site to be the perfect location for their legacy, because it has a view of the best surfing spot on the island – and Eric will happily take guests surfing or bodyboarding! Rarotonga has some of the best surf in the world (not suitable for beginners).

When we met Eric, he showed us how to make green drinks from the plants – ask him about it. Good nutrition is a passion for the couple and they love to share their knowledge.

From Rainbow Villas, you have a very short stroll to one of the best restaurants on the island – with absolutely stunning views, incredible fresh food & wonderful cocktails. The golf course is literally at the bottom of the drive. A garden full of fresh produce is available to eat as you require. Surfing is included in the price! Be as active or as chilled out as you would like – it’s all here waiting for you.
