Directly across the road from the beach on the wonderful South Coast – beautifully presented and great value!
Lya’s is perfect for couples or a family intent on snorkelling and swimming their holiday away. The lagoon in this area is also a protected reserve, so tropical fish are in abundance.
For those attending weddings in Titikaveka Lya’s is a perfect location and walking distance to the Little Polynesian and Moana Sands Hotels (and their restaurants). Lya’s offers a welcome respite from the great outdoors with a covered verandah and comfy living area with a modern kitchen. Both bedrooms have queen size beds (one can be split into two singles).
There is also a queen size bed in the living room so extras beyond the usual four people are able to stay. Pedestal fans in every room will keep you cool in the balmy evenings and the fully screened home will ensure the mozzies don’t join you on holiday.
A few meters away, you have the Maire Nui Gardens and Cafe, there’s an excellent café there as well, Charlie’s and The Little Polynesian (18 years and over)
The beach and lagoon in the area are particularly good with a deep blue lagoon for swimming and snorkelling at medium-high tides.
Children are welcome.

Kia orana we had a wonderful stay at Lya’s with our family group of 4 adults. The property is exactly as advertised. The location for us was excellent with the beach being immediately across the road and at an angle to Charlies cafe which was a pick up and drop off point for excursions we had booked. It was also in close proximity of Pacific Resort where other family members were staying and where we attended a wedding. What we liked most was it was out of the way from the busyness of Muri Beach area and the privacy between properties in the area was a bonus. We had family members staying down the drive way at Kaynes House so moving between both properties was so easy and convenient.
On arrival the property was meticulously presented with everything spotlessly clean and the grounds beautifully manicured and ready for guests, it is of course an older premises and with surrounding vegetation we found insects to be an issue and dampness in the sink cupboards and drawers this could be resolved with repairs to screens and windows and locating damp spots. One bedroom is also a lot warmer than the other which gets good sea breeze.
We ran out of gas mid stay and the caretaker within the hour came and replaced it, excellent service. We also appreciated the courtesy milk, juice, water, tea and coffee that was available.
The property is well priced and the only thing that would prevent us from returning to Lya’s Holiday Home would be our desire to stay in a sea view property next time in the same location. Nga mihi koutou.
